A strange insect, a friend suggest could be an Adelidae (Fairy or Long Horn Moths)

Adelidae is a very good suggestion. These are best known for their enormously long antennae which are often white. Many species have greatly enlarged eyes, and they are often various metallic colours.

Attached is what I believe is another species found last Wednesday on Samui. The only problem is I have no idea whatsoever as to their species!!!!!

Wow, what a strange family. They certainly are unusual in appearance with those long antennae.

Definitely Adelidae. Not much literature on the tropical Oriental species.
