Found this guy while seaching for the hoary palmer today.
Looks a bit like a plain banded awl to me. ( h. vitta ) Uncle Seow, what do you think?:thinking:

Yes it is the Plain Banded Awl Hasora vitta.
Notice there is a hyaline spot on the forewing (in space 6).
Always check to see that this spot is present.

There is a species called the Siamese Awl H. proxissima, with a whte band but without this spot.
It is known from Thailand all the way to the Solomon Islands, but have never been recorded in our area.
