Salent features.

1.Antennal club gradual, tip ochreous/orange.
2. Palpi 2nd segment somewhat prominent, partly protruding; 3rd segment off-focus.
3. FW cellend marked by dark/black line; HW cell with a round black mark ?a brand.
4. Eyes black; ground colour tawny-brown ; No hyaline spots seen .

I can find no match in the book, so it would appeared to be a species new to peninsular Malaysia. Perhaps an introduced species.

Let's see if Les can work some magic on this.

There is a possibility this may actually be Cupitha purreea.
This little skipper is brown with yellow bands topside but yellow on the underside.

LC's shot of female Cupitha purreea below (vs. male above).
The shape & pattern of the antenna are a match.
There is also a black mark/line on the FW cellend.
The HW of the male has a vesicle/pouch in the cell topside which may have worn to a black mark below.
However,it is hard to explain if wear will change the yellow underside to tawny-brown.

PS This Ko Samui shot shows that it is the male Cupitha purreea.

Sorry, I was in Sabah. Anyway, you have sorted it out. The male does sometimes appear darker when worn, and the oval brand, which secretes a waxy substance (hence the English name, Waxy Dart), confirms the id.

Another one from Pahang, Malaysia for confirmation. Is this Y. baldus newboldi, or something else?
