Three Dysphania species are very similar & the subject of much confusion on the web.
They are D. militaris, sagana & subrepleta.

No. 2 .D. sagana is the easiest to ID. the thorax & abdomen are not banded & fully golden yellow.

No. 1 & 4. D. militaris is very variable in the markings.
Typically the FW discal cross band is not detached from the basal orange& rather irregular.
The HW has a large rounded spot, separate or connected.
The thorax & abdomen are strongly banded.
No. 1 is an unusual variant with much reduced black markings.

No. 3 resembles D. subrepleta which is heavily black-banded compared to the typical D. militaris.

In D. subrepleta the HW spot is always connected to form a band.
The FW discal cross-band is completely separated from the basal orange or almost so.
The cell -spot component of this band is usually a narrow rectangle.
The space 2 component is partially grey or wholly so.
Examples below are all from Malaya.

No. 3 is most likely a heavily marked D. militaris.
The HW rounded spot is connected to form a drumstick.
The FW cross band's cellspot component is broad & squarish typical of D. militaris.
The space 2 component spot is fully orange.
