Seow, Les, Sunny any idea when the genus Caleta has been changed to Pycnophallium?? I know Wiki is an unreliable source, but some of these chaps make it as though it is quite definitive with their cited references and all that. ;P If you've come across any recent refereed scientific papers that validate this, do let me know.

Although Caleta is still widely in use, it appears to be reserved for one species C. caleta.
The rest are assigned to Pycnophallium & others.

TL Seow:cheers:
PS Nhm' revision seem to be chaotic & oudated.
For example decidia is retained in the genus Lycaena.

Hirowatari's cladistic diagram does not support removing the others out of Caleta.

Thanks, Seow. I'll stick to Caleta for the moment then. It appears to me that the Indians have forged ahead with their own updates and leaving the rest of us behind! ;P

I did notice Butterflies of India still use Caleta for all their three species.

There are two (or maybe more) feuding groups over there in India. Sunny should be able to share some insights into their politics over there. :)

This change is new to me, and was not notified of this when I last met Stefan Schroder (a specialist in Lycaenidae) during his annual holiday to Samui in July. I will continue to use Caleta, until I have seen the reasons for the change. I regret to say that I have reservations on much that is coming out of India these days.
