View Full Version : Unknown Pelopidas from Pakistan

Hi.
I am new user. I need to get identification of this Pelopidas which was clearly larger than P mathias. I could manage to get only 4 pics of it all of which are attched. Unfortunately none of these was male upper forewing shot :-(

What you have should be the female Pelopidas sinensis.
This species tend to have 3-4 rahter large ( larger still in the female) hyaline spots on the upperside hindwing.
The antennal has a larger pale whitish area.

The rest of the Pelopidas have 1- 2 spots or none on the upperside hindwing.
In addtion the following apply.
P. assamensis. FW spots quite white, the 2 cellspots very close or touching; antenna with prominent white patch.

P. conjunctus : Forewing spots distinctly yellow. Female.

P. subochracea. Antenna with pale area small or obscure; Hindwing spots usually small.
