Hi need to know if these Potanthus are the same or different species?
can species identification of this genus be possible without genitilia dissection? Potanthus dara is the only species known from this locality so far.

i am not sure about the underwing but from the upperwing views the one in the right was clearly smaller n weaker-looking butterfly. i know nothing about DARTS :-( thanks Dr Seow for ur kind help in Pelopidas and Pseudoborbo :)

Yes , they are all the same Potanthus dara.

There are degree of wear here. Pic 1 ,female (brownish, very worn ) 2nd ,male & lower one, female.
The dry season form dsf, is much paler would be the lower female.

Potanthus dara (partly from Evan's decription)
Upperside HW with spots 6 & usually 7 ( may be absent) yellow.
Underside HW with large spot 6 connecting spot 7; pale yelow , black-dusted, discal band with black spots.

In pic 1 2nd image male, note the HW spots of the band from below upwards are, spot 1b, 2, 3, combined 4 & 5 jutting outwards towards the margin, joined by spot 6 to spot 7.

In pic 2 1st image the two HW spots 6 & 7 are seen separated.
In the 2nd image spot 7 is absent ( right HW, spot 6 very small.).
