ID help for Arhopala

[Banded Yeoman]

Dr Seow, here's an Arhopala from 2016 that I have yet to identify. It looks to me like A. athada but there are so many look-alikes. What do you think?

Yes this should be A. athada although it is not typical

1. FW band often strongly dislocated at vein 4.
2, HW band fully dislocated at vein 2.
3. HW postdiscal spots & submarginal spots well separated.
4. V-spot usually narrow (broad here)
5. HW spot 7 often with the inner margin convex.
6. HW spot 6 usually asride spot 5 & cellend bar. (not so here)
7. large FW 22-23 mm.

Cleander group, subgroup cleander.

An example of A. sublustris ,cleander group, subgroup alea.
1. FW band usually only slightly dislocated at vein 4; HW band fully at vein 2.
2. HW V-spot always broad & open-ended.
3. HW spot 6 do not overlap spot 5.
4. Markings closer together.
5. Smaller nearly by half ( X 0.5 ). FW 17-20 mm.

Thanks for the detailed reply Dr Seow! Most of my Arhopalas which have been ID'ed as A. athada have been based on the "look" so far. I will make sure to pay closer attention. :cheers:
