Just a casual miscellany of dubious insects from recent, and from all around Singapore island. More images will be added in time. As always, assistance is deeply appreciated.
We'll start with some Crambids

6.should be Omiodes diemenalis.
http://lepidoptera.butterflyhouse.com.au/spil/diemen.html
7. Likely Netria viridiscens Female. Male is different.
Schintlmeister revised the N. viridiscens complex into ten species.
The images on the net becomes very confusing mixed up.
In N. mutispinae the post medial (which forms the outer margin of the brown band) forms a sharp cornered indentation into the marginal green area in space 3.
The antemedial (forming the inner margin) is less lobulated.

In N. viridiscens the postmedial indentation is shallow ,often rounded & the antemedial is more lobulated with longer protrusions.

8. No prper match.
Addendum: Looks to be Scopelodes anthela ; basal half darker ,with vague barring in distal half.

9 & 10 Amata stellaris. Body with white stripes ;wingtip white.
http://www.mothsofborneo.com/part-6/syntominae/syntominae-1-9.php
11. Boradiopsis cf harmani. Zygaenidae, Chalcosiinae.
The arrangment & shape of the spots closely match B. harmani than two others, B. aequalis & bipartita.
Range Borneo. A single record from Singapore.

Jerome, to be able to get the IDs of most of these is quite fantastic.
I presume you also have access to many reference materials in the library.
12.Acropteris rectinervata. Both pale medial bands on the FW & HW are broad. veins on FW straight.

A.leptaliata : FW pale band broad ;HW pale band narrow.

14. Spaniocentra cf spicata.
HW apex brown patch largely obsolete; FW inner margin of brown spot flat-top ,& curved outwards at the bottom.

TL Seow: Cheers.
PS. 15 is probably the same species as 14, though it looks closer to megaspilaria.
If spicata is inknown in Singapore & megaspilaria is recorded, then 14 & 15 are likely to be megaspilaria.

You're too kind, Dr. Seow. I am merely a scavenger. Most of the IDs were shamelessly plucked from old posts, or whatever resources I stumble upon during my occasional delves into the wide web. I'm still far from attaining a firm grasp on things.

Erebids again.
On a side note, I was wondering, under what circumstances would one decide to use aff. or cf. ?
For the longest time I've been using cf. when I have two materials to compare with , whilst I use aff. when there's only a single piece of material that matches closely. Is aff. a term used strictly by authoritarians, or is it also available for laymen's utilisation?

The terms aff. & cf. can be used by anybody although they are mostly used by taxonomists.
aff. ie affinis or affinity means closely related to.
eg. If you put a aff. x. IT means it is similar to ax, likely belongs to the same species group , but it is not sp x as far as you know.
cf. ie conferre or confer means to compare.
If you put a cf. x, it means it is very similar to ax with some minor differences & could be the same species, x.

69 Review.
This is very close to this ID'ed as Maxates variegata.. which is a Bornean endemic. (stated as similar to M. melancholica)
If this below is correctly IDed than 69 is probably Maxates melancholica, which is found in Malaya.

Thanks for the elucidation on the terms
I have no image of Voliba spp.
The description say whitish irrorated with brown & restricted to the Papuan region.
According to Kendrick, R.C's paper on Hong Kong's lepido-fauna in 2002, Tatobotys is a junior synonym of Voliba, first established by Walker,1866 and was later revised by Butler, 1880.

84. Arctornis singaporensis is distinctive with its broad green shadings of several main veins.
85.Female Kunugia gynandra.
The FW is marked by several wavy arcuate fasciae.
The submarginal spots have two at the apex & two at the tornus enlarged & darkened.

86. Metanastria cf. hyrtaca female. Range ;NE India to Sundaland except Borneo.

The submarginal spots are very irregularly set with strong white inner shadings.

Review 89-90.
Arctornis very likely A. submarginata.
A. semihyalina have brown unspotted foreleg whereas pix 90 shows a spotted foreleg.
The FW markings is identical to this below in which part of the frons & palps can be seen .Pix 89 shows a bit of dark brown at the front end.
https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/5062069
The blackish brown frons & brown palps are distinctive.
http://www.mothsofborneo.com/part-5/arctornithini/arctornithini_1_46.php
If you do get to shoot another Arctornis ,try to get a frontal shot.
Many ID marks are based on the markings of the frons(forehead), palps, & forelegs.
The usual shot have the head bend down in making these invisible.

Undoubtedly it is Noreia.
The markings matched correctly, the more rounded wings indicate a female.
Noreia cf ajaia.
This is recorded from Singapore, the male is more brownish grey than the unilineata male & the female browner still.
The Un HW have the postmedial angled in ajaia but rounded in unilineata.
