A Halpe sp. from Tat Mok, nc Thailand. Although specific identification of many Halpe is almost impossible, this individual possesses five very distinct spots on the upper wing. None of the underwing I can see. I can find no images in the literature or on the web that show any similar layout of 5 spots (usually 4 or 7 spots). Closest I could find would be H. handa (homolea). Maybe it is not a Halpe species? Suggestions would be welcome please.

The antennae are that of the Baoris group.
This appear to be Baoris penicillata chapmani or as B. chapmani.
The underside FW base has an oval brand only seen in Baoris.
Pix 2 shows a hint of the HW paintbrush.
Pix 4 somehow miss it completely.
Fig 57a male B. oceia showing the brand on the underside of the FW base.

Many thanks for the detailed reply. I'd never have identified that (being convinced it was a Halpe)!
