Dear Dr Seow,

I would appreciate if you could help me ID the following butterflies shot at Cambodia?

.1 Not sure what Jay butterfly this is?

1. Graphium arycles sphinx..
The upperside is green as in G. agamemnon.

2. Loxura atymnus continentalis.
Two similar species are easily confused.

L. atymnus.
HW tornal lobe (not the tail end) marked with black & white lines.

Besides the 3 photos in the email above, could you please also help me ID these 2 butterflies taken at Cambodia. Are they Grey Count (Cynitia lepidea)?

1. Lasippa tiga camboja ;FW submarginal orange band very narrow ,a series of chevrons or 'V's.

The same band is broader in L. heliodore.

2. Curetis saronis indosinica. The legs are banded orange to reddish-brown. In the similar C. tagalica they are banded black.

3. Female Euthalia recta monilis. The white band is fairly straight .

The similar E. teuta have the band sharply bent at the upper end.

Post 4. 4 & 5

Male & female Cynitia lepidea cognata.

E. cocytus can look similar, but the FW marginal band is abruptly tapered off at the curve of the margin.

ID Correction 4 is Cynitia cocytus & 5 is Cynitia lepidea.

4. Male Cynitia cocytus cocytus. Note series of bluish patches on FW ; pale purplish (lavender) tinge of bands.

5. Female (rounded FW tip & broader FW band) Cynitia lepidea cognata. Note FW marginal band is more uniform in width compared with C. cocytus male .
