ID help appreciated. Place: Mangalore, Coastal area of Karnataka State (West Coast of South India)

Female Pseudoborbo bevani.
Note three subapical spots spot 6 & 7 hyalie, spot 8 opaque, in a arc/curve.
FW with an upper cellspot just noticeable.
HW with a single opaque spot 2.
Abdominal end is that of a female.

P. bevani with reduced spots. Note FW upper cellspot is usually present.

Female Borbo cinnara have UnH cilia heavily darkened.

Parnara bada female : FW subapical spots in a straight line; Antenna short with thicker club.

Caltoris kumara. The wingshape exclude this species. FW without any cellspot.

I am learning more points every day.
Pardon my ignorance, but I was not aware of the cell in Borbo and Psuedoborbo Forewing are way too high compared to most other species.

I did not understand that the UNF spot was a cell spot till I understood this.

Your pix is actually sharp enough to see all the veins from v2 to v12.
The upper FW cellspot lies just under the upper arm (radius )of the cell in all Swifts & most time can just be seen if present.
Here is B. cinnara showing the upper cellspot & one showing both the upper & lower cellspots.

The harder part is telling P. bevani & B. cinnara apart based just on the underside.
The cilia feature is not reliable.
B. cinnara nevr seem to have less than 3 HW spots on the underside & they are well-defined.
P. bevani may have much reduced spots & usually the spots are often somewhat blurry.

All three following photos were taken at the same time. I thought I had captured one individual. Now it looks as if I have two individuals (one of them seems to have trasparent apex)
What would be the ids of these Dr. Seow ?

Post 6.

There is only one individual.
The spots & miarginal tears all match.
In particualr there is a scratch mark, a semicircular line running from FW spot 6 (lowest of the subapicals) to the outer(distal) margin in pix 1 & 3.

Parnara bada is easily excluded because its 3 subapicals are in a straight line & its short stubby antennae.

Caltoris kumara. The antennae are longer & gradual, wingshape broader, always various shade of deep brown.

So it is back to P. bevani & B. cinnara.
Note both may have no spot at all in the FW cell.

P. bevani; more golden brown; FW subapicals in a shallow arc; UnH spots may be markedly reduced. often not so sharply defined.

B. cinnara.Greyer brown; FW subapicals in a deeper arc; face & chest strongly white; UnH should have at least 3 spots, well-defined.

Colour in photos is always confusing.

This is another Pseudoborbo bevani.

Yes indeed one individual. An out of focus leaf has blocked the apex in one of the photos giving a false impression of transparent apex.

Ha ha....... alright. Our compound seems to be infested heavily with Psuedoborbo bevanis.
