View Full Version : Euthalia merta or E. kanda?

Photographed in Mae Hong Son this week, nw Thailand. I cannot decide if this is E. kanda or E. merta as have no experience of either in the field. Would be grateful for opinions please. I am leaning toward E. merta as the underside hindwing appears to have dots on the sub-marginal edge rather than dashes.

Euthalia merta.
Normally in E. merta the arrowheads point outwards but this can be difficult to see as here.
The FW postdiscal band widen & contain a short dark bar at the upper costal end.

E. kanda; This short bar at the upper end of the band is absent.
