I have waited a long time to become a member of this forum & i would like to thank Khew SK Sir for making it possible. As my first post, my sincere request to Dr. Seow Sir to help me in the identification of these two species.

My suspect is that first one is Pithauria marsena & 2nd one is Pithauria stramineipennis.

Thank u in advance....

Both are Pithauria sramineipennis.

The difficulty in India is th varied forms with DSF thrown in.
Elsewhere in SE Asia they are not difficult to separate.

P. stramineipennis
UpF with broadly straw-coloured scales basally.
UnF with a large pale area sub-basally in the lower zone, intruding into the cell area around the cellspots. (Diagnostic).
UnH like Halpe, with diffuse interneural dark spots delineating a series of pale lunulate postdiscal spots.
DSF merely pale & unmarked,

Typical WSF Thailand.

P. marsena.UpF without extensive straw-coloured scales.
UnF without a pale area.
UnH with a more uniform ground pattern (without interneural spots) typically chestnut with some white discal spots.
