This Halpe was photographed in Phetchabun province, nc Thailand this month. Open forest at about 700 m. altitude.
Reviewing my images and literature I think I can narrow it down to either flava, kusala or wantona. But I don't really have enough experience of any of these three to be sure, and would greatly appreciate opinions please. All three are rather uncommon in Thailand, with kusala the rarest. My gut feel is wantona based on my limited experience.

All six images refer to the same individual for a range of angles.

It should be Halpe toxopea although the location is a bit further north.

The HW interneural dark spots & the marginal spots are large & nearly merged so that the pale area appears as a central band.
The species with this feature include .
H. porus with well-defined band & twin FW cellspots.

H. flava; FW spots 2 & 3 broadly overlapping.

Halpe kusala. FW spots 2 & 3 with half overlap; HW band less defined & submarginal pale spots more obvious.

Many thanks for the detailed response. Interesting. A tough group to get to grips with.
