Should be Charaxes bernardus hierax. Correction: Charaxes aristogiton.

C. aristogiton.
Male without a pale discal band.
Underside uniform brown ;FW apex white shadings better defined as two spots.
HW postdiscal band/spots edged by a usually fairly straight thin & defined black line.

C. Kahruba.

C. bernardus & psaphon are very similar & variable.

C. bertnardus.
Male may have a white discal band.
FW apex more strongly white shaded; HW black line less developed , irregular & may not be black.
Tail at vein 4 typically short, 2X the tooth at vein 2.

Thank you for your feedback. Yes, we all know about the tricky genus of Charaxes. After getting your reply I further studied about it. I am sharing with you.

UNF inner edge of the discal band is not so closer to the cellend bar like as Charaxes bernardus hierax.
HW with a series of narrow post discal white spots in spaces 1b-5 is small and outer edged not by broader black spots.

Agreed .

The closeness of the discal band to the FW cellend bar is fairly consistent in C. bernardus .
I actually did look at it before but it can be difficult in some examples.

This means your specimen is Charaxes aristogiton.

You could try a scrutiny of the difference between C. bernardus & C. psaphon.

As a caution that no single feature is absolute.

Typical C. aristogiton.

C. aristogiton with the FW discal band near to the cellend mark.

C. bernardus crepax with the discal band not near the cellend. Langkawi, P. Malaysia ,where C. aristogiton is absent.
