Dear Dr. Seow sir,

I have learned a lot in my previous post about Heliophorus id. Thank you so much for the guidance and suggestions you put forward in every post.

I am posting here three more individuals of Heliophorus that I have photographed in Meghalaya, India. I am hopeful that they are H. indicus following your comments in my earlier post. Your views and comments is highly appreciated.

1.

2.

3.

Here is a Tagiades for id. My suspect is Tagiades cohaerens.

4.

Thank you in advance.

1, 2, & 3.

These are all examples of H. indicus.
The original author Fruhstorfer's comment that indicus have a narrow red border & latilimbata have a wide border was extremely usuful.
( I have to google translate his comments from German.)
The extensive white shading is quite typical of indicus but may not be entirely reliable.

The previous individual I am fairly confident it is H. epicles without the FW orange patch.

4. Tagiades cohaerens is right.
Here only the two cellspots & three subapical spots (6, 7, & 8) can be seen.

Both T. cohaerens & menaka have a black spot in HW space 1b.

T. cohaerens.
FW usually with subapical spots 6, 7, & 8 and spot 4 & 5. (often absent in dsf)
HW black spots less heavy.

T. menaka Additionally have a FW spot 3. In dsf spots weak
HW heavier black spots.

Thank you so much sir. H. indicus may be quite common in Meghalaya. But may be it is overlooked due to its close similarity with H. epicles.
