Here are a couple of southern Thailand Arhopala species giving me a headache.
Suggestions for ID appreciated please
Both were photographed in Bang Lang NP right on the Malaysia border in lowland primary forest.

Image 1. This is a tailed species. The closest match I can find is A. elopura. Though the spots appear to be a little too large?

Image 2. An untailed species. I am stuck on this one.

Many thanks.

1. Arhopala horsfieldi

The FW postdiscal band resembles A. elopura with spot 4 dislocated & shifted outwards.
However the HW postdiscal band is only partially dislocated at vein 2 (where the 'V' spot is).
In A. elopura this is fully dislocated.
A. elopura.

# species in the group can look similar.

A. hellenore have sharper FWs & contrasted markings.

The next two are very similar.

A, eumolphus . spots may be more sinuous.
The HW green patch features a double layered tapering band.

2. Arhopala amphimuta amphimuta.

Four species are very similar tailless species.
FW with psotdiscal band partially dislocated at vein 4.
HW postdiscal spots 5, 6, & 7 staggered, spot 6 not astride the cellend bar.

They can be divided into two groups.

A.HW with a white tornal spot on the cilia.

A1. Arhopala norda .HW marking narrower, the 'V' spot narrow.

A2. Arhopala moolaiana. HW with the 'V' spot very fat.

B. HW without a white tornal cilial dot.

B1. Arhopala amphimuta; HW with wellform 'V' spot of equal arms; postdiscal band above it almost regular.
