This is a typical male Amathusia phidippus .

The Amathusia species can be very difficult to ID properly.

1. Amathusia phidippus.
The 4th dark band (palest) from the wingbase is not notched by the veins.

The rest may have the HW 4th dark band notched to various extent.

Amathusia friderici.
HW 4th band is distinctly notched.

Amathusia binghami.
Very similar to A. friderici. Median band is said to be broad & redder.
Probable A. binghami.

Amathusia perakana.

Amathusia schoenbergi.
Very similar but the notching at vein 3 & 4 very deep, that at vein 4 deeper.
