Can anyone confirm the host plant for Centaur Oak Blue? I think it is Terminalia catappa, common English name: Sea Almond; common Malays name: Ketapang.

I am not sure about the correct ID for the host plant but will confirm it.

u got a shot of the leave? if its ketapang, then I can ID, cos we (aquarist) use the leaf to soften the water

Some shots of the tree.

#1. Leaves of this BIG tree. It is at least 5-6 storey tall but you may find some branches growing at the low level as shown in the photo.

#2. The red will rust and turns into red when it gets older?

#3. Shot from ground level.

#4. The young shoot of the leaves.

#5. The young leaf of the tree.

Concurred , from the pictures shown it is ketapang leave. I use them in breeding my Betta.

Likely that the cat can only feed on the young leaves , the mature leaves are thick and hard..... unless they have iron teeth..:bsmile:

Not really Sunny, I see the red leaves being munched away too...

Of course, preferrably the young leaves... hehe

Another host plant of Centaur Oak Blue found by Khew is Eugenia grandis, so you found a new one ;-)
