This pic was taken by Hexlord who is currently in KL, and sent to me this morning. I went thru' C&P4 twice and can't seems to find a match... :hmmm:

It's one of the new additions to the Malaysian checklist in recent years. It should be captured in the soon-to-be-coming-out C&P4 supplementary, of which I'm also a contributor.

This species 'migrated' over to Malaysia from Thailand, like the Leopard Lacewing.

This is the Tawny Coster (Acraea violae).

haha... no wonder... was suspecting that it migrated from Thailand or an escapee. Is it a tiger, or a nymph?

Quite common these days, and the last time I was in Penang, I also saw a specimen flying around at the Botanical Gardens.

You may read what Simon Chan wrote some time back in 2003 here (http://www.nss.org.sg/butterflysingapore/articles/acraea-violae/index.htm).
