As a new member, it has taken some time to go through all the very interesting threads. A fantactic site, and gets morning and evening visits from me daily now I have found it!

A couple of things have occured to me. You may disagree with me, but unless they are put forward, one never knows.

Firstly, the detailed information for each butterfly includes the scientific name and local names. However, I note that the author and date of decription is not included.

Secondly, there is a brilliant 'sticky' on the DFs, and you have now built up a good selections of photos. Perhaps a separate gallery may be useful, as it takes some time to go through all the pages to see if a species is there. I know this is a butterfly site, but there is obviously an interest in the Odonata.

As I say, just suggestions, as this forum is by far the best and most active I have come across.

Thanks for the feedback, Les.

For the more detailed scientific information on the species, I guess you're right, if we are to make the checklist a bit more "professional". Parts of my website which I've been renovating has included more scientific stuff, and maybe some time in the future, I can merge the two sites to have one single checklist with lots of pictures from the members here.

The Odonata suggestion is good. I suppose there are enough photos here to make for a good dragonfly site, even though we're not too conversant with the IDs and there are no experts here yet. I guess for a start, I can create a Dragonfly/Damselfly Photography sub-forum.

Thanks for your views. :) Looking forward to more butterflies from up north!

Thanks for the link. Sorry, I don't know anyone who can help. I was just checking IDs on some DFs I had shot in Thailand, and the thought came to me. Pleased that someone else had thought of it.
