Interesting day, but no new species!

1) Horaga syrinx moulmeina - Female. Two things to note here. A - the hind wing stripe is NOT narrower than that of the forewing & B) there is still the sign that the hindwing stripe was blueish. It suggests to me that the pic I showed before with a strongly blue hindwing was a newly eclosed specimen. The blue fades in time.

2) Troides aeacus malaiianus - Female. A very good model, stayed still for nearly an hour!

3) Tajuria cippus cippus - Male. I'm still not sure about the difference between the nominate subspecies, and that found in Singapore!

4) Euploea mulciber - Female. Just a shot I like!

5) Euthalia aconthea gurda - Female. Count the forewing spots! There are two more than in any other specimen I've seen from outside Samui. This appears to be yet another species I will have to concentrate on in Year 2 to decide whether it should be described as a new subspecies or not. Need more material. I would be grateful if anyone could tell me that this is not unusual. I do not wish to waste my timne, nor do I want to collect specimens unnecessarily!

Look like a fruitful day for you. Good capture.
