Found this small (1 1/2cm long) pupa attached to a coconut palm frond. Any idea of ID?

One of the Hesperiidae for sure... but you already know that... ;P

probably I'm wrong, but got a feel that this is a moth pupae

Quite right, SC. This pretty little moth eclosed today. Could I have an ID please.

Got me fooled there... sure looks similar to some of the Skipper pupae in Igarashi. :embrass:

Atteva sp.

Yponomeutidae.

no records of this genus using coconut palms as a host plant on the BMNH's HOSTS database.

Atteva is a rather small genus that is in need of revision; most records in S.E.Asia are of A. fabriciella (or misidentifications thereof). When I checked the genus to try an identify two species that are found in Hong Kong, I couldn't make much of the series in the BMNH, London, which is a mixture of species.

Thanks Roger. I can't confirm the coconut as hostplant as we did not see a cat feeding, only the pupa.
