I was googling for it and this is what i found:
The smallest butterfly is the Western Pygmy blue (Brephidium exilis) from Africa, which has a 15 to 19mm wingspan.
Although the blue is often claimed to be the smallest butterfly in the world, there is a type of butterfly in South Africa called Barber's Blue, where the male can be as little as 6 mm in size.
Discovered in China's Shaanxi Province in 2002, the butterfly Tongeia minima Shou et Yuan (小玄灰蝶), was recently officially confirmed as the world's smallest butterfly. The full wing span of this kind of butterfly species ranges from only 12-17 mm. Source: Xinhua & Sina
