When I was at Oh' Farms with Roger this morning, I noticed two individuals of the female Jacintha Eggfly which appeared different from the usual females that we've seen. It's rather curious, but the similarities between the two females that we spotted was consistent, indicating that this is not just an aberration.

Could a new form of the Jacintha Eggfly be developing in there?

Here's a shot taken with a P&S camera. ;P Note the hinding white patch in the female Jacintha.

I'm sure you have thought about a cross breed perhaps?

As far as I know, no Great Eggfly is introduced.

A slightly better shot of the strange form of the Jacintha Eggfly. This time when it was basking on the netting of the enclosure at Oh' Farms.

Will keep an eye on this "new" female. According to Nancy at the farm, the number of eggs and cats of JE has been decreasing - something must have happened in the close system.

Interesting form... I wonder if it's been described anywhere else.
