I saw this butterfly near Venus Link and managed only two shots. Could anyone help with the ID please?

That's a Bamboo Tree Brown (Lethe europa malaya). Lucky you! This fella is skittish and lurks in the undergrowth.

Yes, very skittish. That's why the only two shots were both from very poor angle.

"Bamboo Tree Brown" - does it mean that its host plant is bamboo leaves?

Good capture ! This is a real skittish one . My first shot took me 3 trips and hours of tactical crawling to get near one.

Its Host plant is the bamboo plant and the one you shot is a female.
