Description
The Tawny Palmfly resembles Elymnias hypermnestra agina (The Common Palmfly) in size and wing shape, but it is dark brown above and the hindwing has a pale buff border bearing a series of submarginal spots. In flight, it may be mistaken for a Danainae or even a worn-out specimen of Papilio polytes romulus (Common Mormon).
Habitat & Habits
The female of this species makes an interesting "clicking" sound with its hindwings when it flutters about its caterpillar host plant laying eggs.
