Description
The species of the abseus group differ structurally from all the other species of Arhopala in having a short white-tipped tail at vein 3 of the hindwing, besides a normal tail. The male of this species is a deep lustrous blue above, with dark borders. The underside as seen here is distinctive of the species and is quite easily distinguised from the other Arhopalas.
Habitat & Habits
The small triple-tailed Arhopala abseus abseus is one of the many species of the genus Arhopala. It differs from other Arhopala spp. in having an underside with cryptic markings and is rather distinctive.
This species frequents lowland forest, and is encountered regulary in Singapore.
