Description
This species is almost as common, if not more common, than the Common Grass Yellow. Amongst the six extant species in Singapore, this species frequents the same localities as the Common Grass Yellow, and can be found within and outside the nature reserves. In Apr/May 2000, there was a population explosion of the species, and the bright yellow butterflies could be found in abundance in several locations. However, there was no observation of a mass migration as is the case with other Pieridae species. The Three-Spot Grass Yellow can be distinguished from the other Eurema species by the 3 cell spots on the undersides of the forewings.

Habitat & Habits
About 100 or more male Eurema blanda snelleni were discovered puddling in a urine-tainted footpath in the nature reserves. It was a pretty sight when the butterflies rose in a yellow cloud as one disturbed their meal, but they very quickly settled down again to feed greedily.
