Description
Tagiades gana gana is one of the commonest representatives of this genus in Singapore. The wings above are dark brown with darker spots along the discal area of the wings. The tornal area of the hindwings are whitened and has diffuse black spots along the edge.
Habitat & Habits
All the Tagiades species are sun-loving butterflies and fly so rapidly that only the whitened area of the hindwings are seen, giving the illusion of a smaller white butterfly in flight. This photograph shows the characteristic flat open-winged posture which is usual amongst the Tagiades species.
