Hi everyone,
Need some help with the ID of the following moths.
Thanks in advance. :)
Here is another moth which I'm clueless of its identity...
Sorry about the size though, cos I had to re-size it to allow the upload. :grin2:
Ur third yellow moth has been ID-ed previously by Roger as Artaxa sp.
Noctuidae, Lymantriinae, Nygmiini
You can find the post here.
Ur first moth is beautiful! You took it in Singapore?
Colourful, puddling moth is Psaphis euschemoides, but i'm not sure of the ssp.
#1 is a species of Arctornis (Noctuidae, Lymantriinae, Arctonithini), though if you take a look at the Moths of Borneo website, there are rather a lot of species in the genus and many look virtually identical.
#2 is a lappet moth of some description (Lasiocampidae), possibly in the genus Dendrolimus
cheers, Roger.
Thank you Atronox and HKMoths for your help.
I have a few more new moths which need all your expert help with the ID. Thank you all in advance. :)
top one is a Scolopedes sp. (Limacodidae)
middle one is Pingasa ruginaria (Geometridae, Geometrinae, Pingasini)
bottom one is another tussock moth (Noctuidae, Lymantriinae, Nygmiini), from what used to be the genus Euproctis
cheers, Roger.
Thanks so much for the prompt reply hkmoths! :)
I forgot to post 1 more photo here. I can't seem to ID it too.
Thank you all in advance again. Really appreciate the kind help. :)
This is one of the species of Dysphania (Geometridae, Geometrinae). Be aware that there are several burnet moths (Zygaenidae: Psaphis spp.) that look rather similar to this!
cheers, Roger.
